I am looking for new alzheimer's medications that are not approved for use in the U.S. to ask my grandma's doctor about. She is currently on Aricept and she is getting worse and it seems very quickly. Does anyone know how to get involved with drug trials? Any information is greatly appreciated.

  1. I'm sorry about your grandma.  I don't know of any drug trials, but some other medications for alzheimer's are Razadyne (galantamine), Namenda (memantine), or Exelon (rivastigmine).  Maybe her doctor could try something else.
