Are there any animals (other than us humans) that prefer to mate in private?

Many do not mate unless they cannot be observed. Take some birds for example; unless there is a secluded area they will not mate (even if raised in captivity.) Breeders attach small enclosed boxes in order to accomplish this, not just to provide a nesting area.

I believe many animals do, cats are an example. I once saw 2 cats doing each other under a big garbage container (They were hiding from people's/ cats' eyes!!)

Perhaps, all animals prefer to mate in privacy, in security and in total intimacy! Quite a few animals do not have the option, the freedom, the choice, to do that!
