If your emplyor sets up surveliance cameras in the work place, what rights do employees have. Is there any guidlines set out as to how long boss's can actually monitor progress of staff in a normal environment. What if your emplyor abuses the cause of surveliance to monitor work productivity of staff in the comfort of his home.? With the new workers rights set in place do the laws still goven discrimination and un-fair dismisal and what do they outline? I will greatly appreciate as much information from people or be informed of web sites where i can access this information.

  1. The only thing the boss is obligated to do is to tell you that he put the cameras and where they are.Sorry but as you can tell of what is happening around us there is no more privacy and there is little we can do...maybe nothing.

  2. there are laws in australia on invasion of privacy which cover things like monitoring staff in toilets etc but generally speaking if the employer is "reasonable" in the monitoring then its legal
