Are there any bad omens related with dead birds?

Today my dog brought in a dead bird after I took her outside but I was not paying attention when I let her in and didn't see the bird. So later I was on my computer and she started growling at my feet and I looked down and there was a dead black bird!! Not only was that disgusting, today is my 21st birthday. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

First, I want to say Happy Birthday.

Second, your dog was giving you a present.  When she was growling, she was pretty much saying "Look, girl.  I got you a birthday present.  Now, eat!"

I hope that you carefully disposed of the bird, since it could be host to any number of diseases or parasites.  In all honesty, I thought it was a symbol of good luck, but I couldn't find a definitive answer.

Have a happy birthday, and try not to worry about this too much.  Your dog already gave you a present, even though it's something that you really don't want!
