Are there any bee insecticides that are safe for pets?

We have a bees nest under our deck, and our dogs have been trying to catch them as they fly up. We want to spray the nest, but the dogs are able to get under the deck, and we do not want to use anything that will poison them. Does anyone know of any that are safe for pets, or have any suggestions? Thanks!

  1. Yes there is some safe ways to get rid of bee's.  I would call your local Pest control, and ask them for advice.  Most of them will help you.  If they don't call another one.  Also at night when the  bees are in the nest.  You can smoke them...will take a little bit.  And you can remove the nest that way...but only if you know what you are doing.  Also there are organic things out there to.  You can call a hardware store, or your local pet/ or humane society.  Here in Michigan you can call 411 and information on such things.  A even better place to call might be your DNR/Gov agency they are usually good about things like this.  Please be very careful...bee's can be nasty if bother..but only to protect their nests.  Good luck and is nice to see you worry about your dogs.

  2. Try EcoSmart organic insecticide (wasp & hornet killer). It's non-toxic and safe to use around children and pets. I used it and it worked great -- didn't even damage the plants on the ground under the nest. it should be easy to find... I bought it at a Wal-Mart.
