  1. If I were you, I'd check some of the online book dealers.  Usually if it is in print, they will have it for sale.  You should also check your local library.  If they don't have a book, and it exists, they can usually get it for you on interlibrary loan.  Just ask the librarian for help.

  2. yes. you can go to bass pro shops on-line or the actual store and they will have books and movies. if you have a particular animal in mind then you can limit the search to that, and you can also just look online for free information.

  3. amazon/ebay/borders

or maybe try your local library/ book store

  4. THE MAGAZINE "GUNS AND AMMO" HAS REALLY GREAT YEARLY PUBLICATIONS WITH "BEST OF" ARTICLES..ALL VERY INFORMATIVE AND IN DEPTH!! HISTORIES OF MILITARY WEAPONS,SELF LOADERS,HUNTING EQUIPMENT....THESE ARE LARGEST AND DONE CHEAPLY ON NEWSPRINT STYLE PAPER!!THEY HAVE GLOSSY FRONT COVERS AND ARE WOTH COLLECTING "BACK ISSUES" OF!!! GOOD LUCK

  5. Yep. Sam Fadala wrote a book called The Book of the Twenty-Two: The All American Caliber in 1989. Great book. Easy to read, very informative. It covers the history of, accuracy of, hunting use of, care of, maintenance, buying of, and shooting of .22 rifles. Additionally H. Lea Lawrence wrote a book on small game and varmint hunting modestly titled, The ultimate guide to small game and varmint hunting : how to hunt squirrels, rabbits, woodchucks, coyotes, foxes, and other game animals. It talks about using .22 rifles to hunt small game a good deal, though not exclusively.

Additionally Guns & Ammo used to (don't know if they still do) put out a yearly special edition back around '97-'99 dedicated soley to the .22 rimfire. Not a book per se, but it still might be interesting if you can find a copy of them laying around.

You can also find sections on .22s in many older books on rifles and hunting, like Jack O'Connor's 1961 book The Complete Book of Rifles and Shotguns. While the info may be a bit dated, its still quite relevant, especially in tracking the history of classic .22s.
