  1. I am homeschooling and breastfeeding.  I'm not sure I understand what kind of support system you are looking for.

If you are looking for a Homeschool group in your area you may want to check with your local library or check the internet.

I can assure you that you are not the only one out there.  I am also a mother of three.

  2. Cool Jazzy, you're right there!

I'm in Oklahoma, and I bf and homeschool.

(feel like I'm in a meeting or something)

  3. Yes!  I nurse my 14 month old, I homeschool my 4 and 7 year old, and I live in the DFW area.

Here' a support group in Irving:

I don't know much about that one but there are some great one's listed here:

Or you could start one in your area:

There's also a convention coming up in Arlington:

    Hang in there!

  4. what part of texas are you in? If you are in the Dallas area there is a huge following for it (especially around UD). Run a yahoo search on groups in your area.

sorry, I didnt see the Irving part.. but if thats the case my sister moved from there a few years ago and she homeschools and had a huge group of friends... check out UD

  5. I breast fed and I do homeschool. But, my breastfeeding days have been over for a long time now. My daughter weaned around sixteen months. It was a time that felt right for both of us. But, I had friends who continued much longer. I completely support your decision. Have you looked for a La Leche League near you?

    Good luck.

  6. Hundreds.

Why do you have no support system?  There are home-school families nearly everywhere you go.

Besides, many of my closest and most supportive friends are not home-schooling.  You should be able to find someone --- check the local churches.

My best friends do not home-school but they completely approve of it and encourage those that do.  They know that home-schooling is a very productive and worthwhile form of education.

If your friends don't see it that way then educate them!  Get newsletters and flyers from homeschool organizations.  Print out information from the internet.

Check out hslda.org for support groups near you.

  7. There are many breastfeeding mothers, as well as many homeschooling mothers.  I do both.

I have a five month old daughter who I am currently breastfeeding, and I homeschool my older children-a 7 year old son and a ten year old daughter.

Look for forums at sites such as iVillage and Baby Center-they have boards for breastfeeding, homeschooling, and so much more.  Also check out http://groups.yahoo.com and you can find online groups in your area, for both breastfeeding, homeschooling and parenting in general.

    I hope this helps!

  8. i'm sure you can google for some mom's who homeschool in the dfw area.  my big concern is that you are still breastfeeding a fifteen month old child.  at that age they know to point at your ... ya know.  Doesn't that make you uncomfortable? but good luck.
