  1. The most wellknown one among us locals is Cascade Brewery- there are day tours and night tours-

    Boags up north in launceston-

and lots of pubs in hobart-you cant drive down a street with out seeing one!

    good luck :)

  2. LOL every pub in Tasmania is famous just depends on which tale you want to believe. You should do a pub tour right around the state make sure you go to the west coast as well as the cities. The whole of Tasmania is filled with pubs.... well almost  cheers enjoy

  3. There is Boags in Launceston and Cascade in Hobart, the Cascade brewery is still in the Georgian building pictured on the labels and they run a brewery tour, you will need to book for this  (03 6224 1117), there is also a new micro brewery - Moo brew operating out to Morrilla estate in Hobarts northern suburbs

The best known pub in Hobart is Knopwoods on Salamanca, other good ones are Customs House and the Republic in North Hobart

The pub in Ross between Launceston and Hobart is beautiful

  4. Boags in the North, Cascade in the South.

I grew up in the south, and have been threw Cascade. It's a awesome tour. My Grandpa worked there, so I've seen the ins and outs. Highly recommended. And the beer is AWESOME!! Cascade Pale Ale for me!

Also Southern Tassie is full of wineries! Try and get into some of them! They are fantastic. I like Tea Tree (grew up there!!) and Morilla (right near the Cadbury's Chocolate factory, need I say anymore!! lol!!)

  5. The main breweries in Tasmania are Cascade in Hobart and Boags in Launceston, both of which allow brewery tours and tastings.

There are some smaller microbreweries such as Moo Brew (at the Moorilla Winery) and Iron House Brewery on the east coast which also conduct tours.

If you are into spirits (whisky, gin, vodka, schnapps etc), you may like to visit a distillery, such as the Lark Distillery in Hobart or Hellyers Road in Burnie.

  6. Hobart has a very colourful and Historic past with many well known (notorious)Pubs in its history. A recent story on Getaway attests to this.

The Cascade and Boags Brewery stories are both well known.

There are many other historic Inns and Hotels dotted all over Tassie that you can visit
