  1. George and Blue have most definately answered your question better than I could have, great job people!! Take their advice I am a traveler frequently to Germany and I know their advice is good.

  2. [EDIT2:

i actually found dealer who speciallize in "wohnmobil", but so far they have mostly new ones and the cheapest used ones are €15000+ ...

if i understand you correctly, that's not really what you're looking for?

looking around i found that you can rent one for about €70/day via the ADAC with insurance etc...

if you drive around germany/europe i strongly recommend a membership in the ADAC, the german automobile-club.

    (these sites are in english)

also it would help to know what you are planning, because you cannot just park your van anywhere you want and "live" there. in germany that's against the law. you'd have to travel from camping-ground to camping-ground and they aren't that cheap...

in the netherlands, especially near the coast, police enforces these laws pretty harshly - fine is 150 euros!

this kind of "american way of life" isn't what's really viable in middle-europe...

    [EDIT:

if you plan to stay in greece for 3 month, renting a van is probably not an option... but i still recommend to get a membership in a car-club. the benefits if anything ever should happen are huge!

    ADAC-Service usually speak english.

also check out AAA / ARC Europe

The equivalent club in greece is ELPA, but their website is only greece, which i do not speak...

  4. sask the tc of this section he is actually living in one

  5. Check out the yellow pages, I ll add the link.

The words you need to enter are 'Gebrauchtwagen' ='used cars'. 'Wohnmobile' = 'camper van'.

    There are lots of dealerships.
