Question:

Are there any car stereo amps made in the USA anymore? Or should I go mid 90's old school?

Im looking to beef up the ride with some sounds. I was a teenager in the mid 90's, and back then we had PPI, Phoenix Gold, Orion, Lanzar, Audio Art, Audiobahn...all serious quality amps putting down the juice.

Now I look around, everything is made in China or Korea or something, and 1/2 the companies out today I dont recognize. The other 1/2 are surviving companies but they dont have the hand built quality of 10 years ago. Surprise surprise with outsourcing and all that.

Anyway, are there good amps made today? Or should I just get the Orion HCCA competition amp off ebay and slam 4 15's with it making peoples jaws drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrop?

  1. I've always had good luck with Rockford Fosgate. I'm not sure their USA made but they make a good amplifier.

  2. ZED Audio is still made here in the USA.  Many companies are going over to China and Korea to save money and got to cheaper build houses.  Nothing wrong with it as foreign build houses have caught up in quality and performance over the years.

  3. try ZAPCO or US AMPS

  4. RE Audio is made in the USA, I think MMATTS is. US AMPS.... Practically everything is made in South Korea, Japan, and China nowadays. When I look for old school powerhouse amps I look for Zed Audio components. They manufactured a variety of amplifiers in the US and in Germany in the early 90s. Such as ESX, old Hifonics, Orions, Crunch.....

I use an Audiopipe 3000D on 4 12"TSXXs  if you care

  5. American Bass

  6. i have 2 rockford fosgate amps last years model and yes they are made in the usa and are the best amps on the market
