Question:

Are there any cell phone carriers that will NOT spy on Americans?

I want to get a cell phone plan, but I WILL NOT under any circumstances pay a corporation $40 a month for 2 years so they can spy on my call.

I know ATT does this, so they are out. What about Verizon, Sprint, and others?

This is about freaking civil liberties. I wont shell out my hard earned money sou that Heart Attack Cheney and Bush can listen on my calls, and millions of calls of Americans.

  1. If you're referring to the "patriot act" (what a cleverly disguised name...) supposedly the only people that need to be concerned are people that have a reason to or are in some way suspected of being involved in any kind of terrorist or national threat situation(s). New imigrants, and people that have other nationalities in their backgrounds from black-listed countries are also subject to phone tapping.

For example, if you were from Iran (a U.S. black-listed country), you might be subjected to the government spying on your phone calls.

If you have no reason to be suspected of any kind of threat to the country, there's really nothing to worry about from what I know.

If you're that worried about it, you could go the pre-paid cell phone route.
