Question:

Are there any cheap places to eat in Toronto?

My wife and I are in Toronto for the next few days. We are blown away with the high quality restaurants that the city has to offer. We have our infant son with us, so we aren't looking for fine dining. We don't want fast food or Swiss Chalet either.

We are staying around Eaton Centre, UIniversity Centre and Chinatown. Does a decent place to eat exist out here that won't cost us an arm and a leg?

  1. ok go to Elms st, it's between Dundas and Gerrard.  Thers a cute little resturant/pub called The Wolf and Frikin.  Good food not expensive.  My husband and I were there last weekend.  Friendly staff and great little place off the beaten path

  2. the hot dog vendor at queen and spadina $1 yes $1 hot dogs , mmmm

  3. Well being a former chef and having worked in that area, Chinatown at Spadina and Dundas is great, just get a Day Pass ( it allows 2 adults plus up to 3 children to ride for one price) from the TTC ticket window, it allows you to ride all day for $8-9 it may have gone up.

There are very reasonable places there, if you want to have some fun, hit Honest Eds on Bloor at Bathurst, there is a subway just north of the store, along Bloor going west you encounter the Korean Village, also a very reasonable inexpensive food area.

Downtown in the area your staying either at the Ramada or Metropolitan, on Bay St, up from the bus terminal on the eastside of the street, there is a place right at the corner of Bay and Elm St, call Le Commesel, it is vegetarian buffet place, and down Elm on the same side a Thai place called the Bangkok Garden, your right fast food you can get anywere but try some of the more eotic places, they are cheap and serve excellent food.

  4. this is a good article and hope helps you out!!
