  1. golden corral / chilis/ tgi fridays , u know all the happy chain restaurants.

  2. Melbourne is a great city to take a kid. For dinner, I would just stay away from Southbank on the Yarra (a bit upscale). I really liked Ying Thai 2 on Lygon street. Lygon street is great place to take a stroll after dinner and get a gelato for dessert.

  3. Roxgurgh Park diner in Roxburgh Park has a great buffet and caters for kid's tastes too,it  also a kid's self serve ice cream and drink area and also a fantastic playground

  4. Firstly, McDonalds aren't a restuarant, they are a fast food shop. They sell cheap S****y fast food full of fat, cholesterol and salt. Let's not be fooled by them as to what they are. McDonalds aren't child friendly, what they are is money friendly, they use psychology and the power of a child, they call it pester power,  to take money from parents. They take money from gullible parents by the Billions. Anybody who thinks that McDonalds are child friendly is a little simple for my liking.

  5. im not sure where melbourne is or in what state but i would check redrobin.com to see if you have a red robin near by. its a great place for kids. they hand out ballons and sometimes on the weekends have "red" the bird that walks around saying hi and handing out balloons. its a total kid friendly place and they have great food with endless steak fries. every kid loves that.

  6. hungry jacks

    KFC

    Red rooster

    Croydon Hotel

    Daiseys Hotel

  7. Pancake Parlour is one of my kids favourite places to eat when we visit Melbourne (there are several scattered around), they have food that suits both adults and kids, also licensed so Mum and Dad can enjoy a drink with their meal!!

Southbank is also pretty good, there is a huge variety of resturaunts and you are bound to find something child friendly. We recently took our kids there and found a pizza place (not sure of the name sorry) and followed that with gelato at another place a little further along.
