  1. An asyndeton is an absence of a conjunction.  They are common in 'stream of consciousness' narratives, such as Molly's at the conclusion of James Joyce's "Ulysses."  Conjunctions are not totally absent, but there are enough missing to provide plenty of examples.

    Ulysses can be downloaded from Gutenberg.  Middle-schoolers are advised to look for something easier.
