On the highest mountains of Spain, for example the Pico de Mulhacén or the Veleta (which are more than 3,000 meters high), is there any civilization up there? Do people live up there? What is the highest town on those mountains?

  1. Actually, Lucky has numbers that are good, but those are in METERS, not feet.  So, that Mountain in Tenerife, that's at 3718 METERS, would be 12,084 ft.  That's pretty close to the same height as Pike's Peak, in Colorado (at some 14,000 +)

Granada is at 2399 ft (738 m), Quito. Ecuador is around 9000 ft, (2769 m) and Leadville, the highest city in the US, is about 10,000 ft (3076m)  for comparison.

Andorra, a seperate country on the border of France, in the Pyranees, is at  6468 ft.(1990m)

  2. The Highest Mountain is Spain is Teide in Tenerife, and is  3,718 feet high, and to answer your question, No there isn't any towns or cities what so ever, just rocky Terrain, but the 2nd biggest mounatin is Mulhacén in Granada (3,478 feet) and has many towns and cities. Hope I helped.

  3. Yes, there are some little towns near the highest mountains. The highest town near the Teide (3718 m.) is Vilaflor, at about 1400 meters. The highest town near the Mulhacén (3479 m.) is Trévelez, in the Alpujarras, at 1476 meters. Near the Aneto (3404 m.),  there is Cerler, at 1540 meters. The highest town in Spain is Valdelinares, at 1700 meters.
