Are there any community theaters that do musicals looking for musicians around here?

I play the trombone, and was wondering if there are any community or volunteer theater companies or something in the area. I am in a community band already in Arlington Heights, IL. So if it coul dbe in the same area sort of that would be great. But I definitly need places near arlington heights IL, which is a suburb right outside of chicago.

If anyone could help that would be great. I would be playing the trombone for any of the theaters out there, and I'm interested in doing this because I want to play more music considering I will be a music major. So any help would be absolutely fantastic!

I recommend checking out the American Association of Community Theatre website, www.aact.org. to see if you can find a group that fits your needs.

If they don't have a member theatre that is suitable, they probably can link you up with one if you send them an email.

Also, you might check out your local newspaper to see when auditions are posted in the paper.  They are usually posted on the same day of the week, and it's likely that a group or two would be interested in your talent.
