Are there any computer stores that reformat comps?

Im getting a laptop in a few weeks, but its going to be my sisters old one. I want to get it reformatted but i dont want it with Vista, i want it to be reformatted with windows XP. Are there any stores in california that will do this? Thanks.

There sure are. Try a CompUSA in the area. Or if you're near a circuit city or Fry's, go there and they'll do it for you. Hope I helped you with your problem : D

If your sister's computer has XP on it now, no problem.  Any computer store or independent computer repair shop can reformat it.  If you have the discs that came with it, or it has a recovery partition you can even do it yourself.

If, however, it had Vista on it, you may not be able to put xp on it.  First off, you can't buy a legal XP license (except on places like ebay).  Secondly, if there aren't xp drivers for the computer hardware, you won't be able to run xp.

If you need more info, consider reposting with the make/model of your sister's computer or, if it's not a name brand, with the operating system and any hardware info you have.
