Question:

Are there any consumer-level video capturing/editing programs that also feature Timebase Correction?

I just recently found out about this "timebase correction" that, while initially capturing video onto a hard drive, literally fixes the picture of any imperfections. for instance, they say it also takes away any warps and defects that are often seen on the edges of video that has been converted from analog to digital. so my question is, is there any cheap editing software out there that can do this? I've already transferred a good bit of my old home videos to "digital world" on my computer but I'm less than satisfied with how they look. if no one can answer me based on the info I've given, just ask me to explain further and I will!

  1. Time base correction isn't the answer to all imperfections, and it's not a software solution either.  It is a good thing to have though - have a look at the Canopus ADVC-300.
