  1. no, there will always be the sheltered weirdo in a homeschool group. But I have a lot of cool homeschooled friends! I just met them and we winded up making our own group. But with that said do not ignore or be mean to the 'sheltered weirdo in the corner' they need friends also.

check out these guys on youtube, they answer question about being homeschooled and some of them are SO funny and true!

  2. hehe i'm home schooled ugh i hate it...

  3. Hmmm.   What would a sheltered weirdo be doing in a home-school group?  That doesn't make much sense to me... but oh well.

My home-school groups are very cool.

We have one that gets together for Team Ultimate.

Another that gets together for baseball.

Another that gets together for gym activities and parent meetings.

Another group has game night and potluck meals together.

My internet groups are made up of great people.  One is a group of home-school graduates -- some are finished with college, others are either working and/or in college.

The Yahoo!Answers home-schoolers are a very FUN group!  I'm often laughing at some of the great responses to the home-school questions.  (I love it!)

  4. Too many to count!

  5. There are 4 in our area you can check with your local library or church to see if there are homeschoolers in your area. Some groups are very loosely organized and get together for field trips .Others charge membership fees and organize paid group activities. We also have a members list with children's names and ages so we can phone directly when trying to get a group together for things. A few things we've done, figure skating lessons, swimming lessons, free skate times, zoo trips Science centre trips, outdoor adventure days.

  6. I think my groups are cool!

Try going to www.yahoogroups.com and searching for homeschool groups in your area!

  7. I have vowed to start one before fall. There is a need for an informal, secular, inclusive HS support group in my area. Home school parents need proper socialization, don't ya know. I'm not the most qualified to start one up, but I am a sucker.

  8. Uh, yeah.

There's a great one in OKC...but mostly younger kids. Look for unschoolers. They tend to be more relaxed and outside of mainstream.
