  1. There's very few countries in which a British National requires a visa to enter.  A good example is China which pretty much requires all visitors to get a visa prior to arrival.

Here's a list of countries where visas are not required when holding a British passport:

  2. yes, here are the visa waiver, the ones you can enter without a visa,

Currently, 27 countries participate in the Visa Waiver Program, as shown below:

Visa Waiver Program - Participating Countries.

    Andorra Iceland Norway

    Australia Ireland Portugal

    Austria Italy San Marino

    Belgium Japan Singapore

    Brunei Liechtenstein Slovenia

    Denmark Luxembourg Spain

    Finland Monaco Sweden

    France the Netherlands Switzerland

    Germany New Zealand United Kingdom

so? for the others? you would have to do a search per country,

  3. THE ANSWER ABOVE IS INCORRECT. THOSE ARE COUNTRIES THAT MAY ENTER THE US WITHOUT A VISA.

To answer the question, as far as I am aware, a British passport is good for all countries, although you may need a visa or other requirements for many. I think the passports used to be endorsed "Valid for all countries" but they removed it because it was taken as a given that you could travel anywhere with it.

An Irish passport is also a good passport: you are allowed into any country as far as I know (notwithstanding visas etc).
