Are there any cruise lines/ships that will book 5 people per cabin?

I want to take my 4 kids on a cruise--but dont want to be split up in 2 cabins

Yes however you will probably have to get a suite, dependant on the cruise line.  In most cases, it will not be more than two individual cabins.  It definitely can be done.  A great source for rates and availability is at www.allaboardtravel.com

yes but you'd have to get the biggest suite probably and even then it might be cramped with sleeping issues.  It is very hard to fit 5 people in.  Even though you would get a discounted price for 2 or 3 of the kids in the suite it might be worth it to just pay a little extra for two rooms....you could get them adjacent or what would probably be perfect is that there are CONNECTING STATEROOMS on most ships.  you can get the two rooms and have the door connecting them so that you can have mroe room but still be together.  Check with the ship and book soon so you can get what you want.

All those people trying to get ready for dinner and only one tiny bathroom? I'd go adjoining, so you at least have 2 bathrooms and cheaper, too.

Check with Carnival, especially the newer ships. I know I was going to put all 5 of us in one room and it was an option. Have fun

I highly recommend Disney Cruise Lines for families. They offer cabins for 5 people. I especially liked the way the bathrooms are layed out. They're divided up into two rooms one with a toilet and a sink and the other has a shower and a sink. They also come with two twin sized beds, one fold away bed, a bunk bed, and a Murphy bed. And the one i stayed in also had a balcony. Disney Cruise Lines has something for everybody. It's fun for the whole family not just the kids.

The answer is yes, but it is limited, and tends to be a bit more expensive.

Carnival has no cabins for five.  However, on some of the older ships (Holiday, Celebration, Destiny, Triumph, Victory and the eight Fantasy class ships) Carnival will book five in the larger cabins (suites).  Carnival will not book five in any single cabin on its newer ships (Spirit and Conquest class).

Royal Caribbean has family cabins (family inside, family ocean view, Royal Family Suite ...) that will sleep five.  

Norwegian has cabins that sleep five, but they are all high end suites.

Disney has cabins that sleep five.  While these are regular cabins, Disney is expensive.  You may end up paying more for a regular Disney cabin that sleeps five then you would for a suite on one of the other lines.

However, you can make two cabins into one on several lines.  Look for connecting cabins (cabins that have a door between the two cabins).  Once the interior door is open, it is just like having a double sized cabin.  You will have to compare the pricing to determine if this is less expensive than one suite.

I know Carnival allows 5 people in the inside staterooms. When we went last year there were 2 beds already there,  then there were 2 drop down beds from the wall, AND they rolled in a cot for my little brother. We were snug but suprisingly comfortable. I hear they have suites but they are usually pricier.

A Disney cruise would be perfect for you all. They have a room that is their Deluxe Family suite with Veranda.

It has a Queen or 2 twins, a fold out sofa with a bunk above it. and a cot that can be fit in with space still by the door to the veranda (perfect for you if they are younger so they can't get out!)

They also have bigger rooms with separate bed rooms... but those are pretty much books almost as soon as the cruise is announced. I just booked a cruise with them for Sept 2008... the above mentioned room is the biggest one they have left on the whole ship.

With kids, Disney is great, this will be our 3rd with them. They can keep the kids so entertained, it's like the kids get their own vacation away from their parents!

Yes.  Royal Caribbean has Family Suites on their larger ships.  They have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.  

Disney Cruise line also has 2 bedroom suites on their ships, with 2 baths.  I have been on both and they are both terrific cruises.  

You get a discount on the 3rd and 4th person in the suite.
