I'm 19 and have four cruises behind my belt and would love to go on another with a friend or my boyfriend. With Royal Caribbean you must be 21 to book a cruise. Now, I've gone on a cruise every year for the past three years. My parents are going, but my brother and I arn't invited this time becuase they are going with a few other couples...blahhh.

Anything would be great. I love cruises and if your an avid cruiser you know how I feel and how badly I want another one. lol.

Thanks

  1. Actually, Disney allows people 18+ to book a cruise.  So does Oceania, but that's a much more "sedate" cruise in general.

There is also an unusual exemption for married couples on RCI and Carnival, but I'm guessing that doesn't apply to you.  =)

You can read the cruise line - specific restrictions, with links to each one's official policy, here:

    Hope that helps!

  2. All of the cruise lines except Carnival requires at least one passenger in each cabin to be age 21 or older.  Carnival requires at least one passenger in each cabin to be age 25.  SO the answer to your question is, unfortunately for you no.

So you need to find a third friend to go with you who is age 21 or older.  And you can do that at a slightly LOWER price because the 3rd and 4th person in each cabin go at a much lower rate, typically about 50% of what the first two people pay.  So you can add up the total cost for 3 people and divide the total cost equally and you will all end up paying less.

The other options is to ask your parents to let you go along but book the two of you into your own cabin as a part of their family.  You may have to for example book you and mom together and then Dad and your boyfriend together and ask for adjoining cabins, or across the hall cabins if you don't mind an inside, but when you get on ship mom and dad take their cabin and you and friend take the other.

I know how you probably feel about cruises, I love them too and will be leaving tomorrow for another one.
