  1. yes , there are tons of ships that do that.   the florida tourism site should be able to hook you up.   i think it was called discovery cruise.  you can take it over there early in am and spend night come back next day.    you do not have to pay for a cabin ,  just your transportation expenses.  get a hotel for the night if you want to stay on the island.   carnival fascination , and carnival  also have short one / two / three day packages.   you can also fly ... about an 1 hour flight about 100 usd round trip.

  2. I did a two-night cruise from Miami to Bahamas.  One night at sea, the next at Nashua. Carnival Cruise Line.  We left Miami at 12 noon.  And where docked the next morning in Nashua.  A great place to stay over night, is The Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island.  It is about a 15 minute drive by taxi.  We took a local fishing boat across the bay, and walked to the resort.  The ship departed the next day at 10:00 am.  have a great time!!

  3. The Carnival Fantasy did.

Twice a week it had overnight in Nassau.

But the port of departure was Cape Canaveral.

  4. NO, the shortest is 3-4 Days. the only line that do 1 Day cruises is Discovery but they don't stay overnight.

  5. The Regal Empress sails from Fort Lauderdale to Nassau every other day.  There is a program through which you can cruise to Nassau, stay overnight in a resort (2 nights) and return to Fort Lauderdale on the next sailing.

Alternatively, you could fly one-way and take the ship one-way and spend any amount of time on the island.

A cruise on the Regal Empress is two-nights, with a full day spent in Nassau.  Both nights on the ship are spent at sea.
