  1. I think you are better off flying to Fiji first, then jump on a cruise around the island – to travel from the US to Fiji on a boat is long.

  2. If you've got some time then you can cruise from LA but figure a minimum of 3 weeks for such a trip.  There are cruise lines that stop in Fiji as part of their world cruise and you can book just the segment that goes to/stops in Fiji.  Most of these are in the Fall and winter because in the summer most cruise lines are in Caribbean, Europe or Alaska to take advantage of the season.

Regent Seven Seas has the Paul Gauguin that does several sailings throughout the year that start or end in in Lautou, Fiji, but you would need to fly to the S. Pacific as the ship only cruises around the S. Pacific islands.

If you are interested, please call me at 866-485-8175.  I have a group on the Paul Gauguin in June for an 11-day cruise to French Polynesia, the Marquesas, and Tuatomos.  However, it  is not going to Fiji.  Going to be a fun cruise.  Hope you'll join us.
