  1. In about a month or so Panasonic is going to release, in the States (it's already available in Japan and Europe), the world's first Blu-ray Disc player to decode "DolbyTrueHD" and "DTSHD Master Audio" internally (and offer "Profile 2.0" with BD-Live, 7.1 Analog output and a 1 GB hardrive with Ethernet).  Click the link to view the "DMP-BD50" on Panasonic's website: http://panasonic.net/pavc/blu-ray/dmp-bd...

Sony has announced a new model ("BDP-S550") for this fall which promises identacle features to the DMP-BD50 for the same price ($500).  Here's a link to that press release: http://news.sel.sony.com/en/press_room/c...

Obviously the advantage of having INTERNAL decoders for all three of the HD audio formats (don't forget "Uncompressed PCM") on Blu-ray Disc is that you don't have to purchase a new receiver to take advantage of all that great sound.  The Panasonic DMP-BD50 is the model to own.
