  1. I am a descendant of ancient Egyptians.  The current British royal family tree indicates that Cleopatra is one of their ancestors.


  2. No they were not killed by the Arabs.  They converted to Christianity very early on and Egypt boasts some of the oldest churches and monasteries in the World.

    The people are now known as Copts, their church - the Coptic church.

    The most famous Copt is probability the former United Nations General Secretary - Boutros Boutros Ghali.

  3. Ancient Egypt was a crossroads location so throughout its long history there was significant intermarriage between clan/religious/skin color/ethnic/ groups. There are undoubtedly living people whose genetic makeup will indicate ancient Egyptian ancestry when DNA research gets better at isolating specific groups.
