Question:

Are there any decent restaurants close to the Atlanta airport?

I'm meeting my husband there tomorrow (he has a 5-hour layover), and I'm looking for somewhere close by where we can have an early dinner. I know lots of places around the city, but nothing really down that way. By the time he gets his bags and checks back in, we'll really just have 3 hours or so, so I don't want to spend too much time driving around. Suggestions?

  1. All the local top hotels have good restaurants...like the Hilton or the Westin, but depending on what you're in the mood for, there are a couple of good choices on Virginia Ave. that I would recommend.

The Barbecue Kitchen just north of I-85 is a good place to eat your basic meat-two veggies-biscuit and ice tea at, and it's only like $6.99 or so for a meal...nothing fancy, just good home style cooling.

If you're in the mood for a little more upscale, but what I would call a good sports bar, then Spondivits on the south side of I-85 is a great choice.  Great seafood.

I live in Marietta, but any time I've ever found myself in the airport area, around any meal time, these are my two picks.
