I have a tv i want and at an online site it is 2000 and at all department stores it is about 2500! I called circuit city and they wont match it because its not a local competitor. Do you know any stores that would match the price.

  1. Although the tv may be 2000, you'll have to add shipping.  In the end, it's a toss-up.  This is why stores don't bother with matching online prices.

  2. Last year I wanted to buy a high-end digital camera and found great deals online.  But I really like to buy high dollar items at a place I can walk up to and complain in person if the is a problem later.  I went to Best Buy and spoke to a sales manager.  I explained that I was interested in the item and was possibly going to buy it online but was looking at the features.  I went on to say that I would like to support a local business and was there any type of sale or promotion coming that would make it more interesting.  The manager ended up giving it to me for the a little less than the price I would have paid for it online.  (actually equal to since online would have included an extra accessory he subtracted from the price since it wasn't offered at Best Buy.

I find if you are polite and informed consumer that many stores will want to make the sale for you. Depends on the manager though.  If they have a 60% markup on something and can sell it to you at 20-30% "off" they still make profit and keep a customer.

  5. I know sears do but i don't know about anyone else .
