    there are such things as 'tropical deserts'.

    However, there are no deserts of any kind in Papua New Guinea as the area receives quite a bit of rain. Port Moresby, the capital, is one of the driest places and it receives 45 inches (1,125 mm). Most of the country is tropical rainforest as was mentioned with some savanna (grassland) areas
