Rachelle said it all. . . and it is also commonly accepted by historians of his life that he was g*y, so it is surprising that he managed one illegitimate son, if indeed he was his son.  He didn't manage any heirs with his wife in a decade of marriage....

King Richard produced no legitimate heirs and acknowledged only one illegitimate son, Philip of Cognac. As a result, he was succeeded by his brother John as King of England. Philip of Cognac married Amelia, the heiress of Cognac in Charente, an arranged marriage by King Richard. However, she died without issue, therefore, Richard the Lion Heart does not have any known direct descendants.
