  1. Look, you just told me not to ***** about how these d**n mutts are good, well, Ill tell you what, I knew crossbreeds were generally healthier than purebreds back when this designer dog thing wasn't even heard of - but its still unethical to breed dogs that are simply crossbreeds with a combined name. Go to an Animal shelter and get a maltese cross, youre wasting your time looking for such a specific cross anyway everything seems to be -oodle.

  2. The "heterosis effect" is BS.  The "hypoallergenic coat" is also BS.  You're not going to find a dog with Cavalier genes that is not going to shed, and even non-shedding dogs aren't "hypoallergenic".  Your son is allergic to dog dander (which is shed SKIN, not fur), along with proteins in saliva and urine.  No dog is hypoallergenic.  If you are wanting to protect your son from allergies, just keep your house very, very clean and keep your dog brushed, and any dog should be OK (talk to your son's allergist about living with dogs-they have great information).  I would recommend immunotherapy for your son, as well.

Oh, and dogbreedinfo.com is a website for puppymillers to sell their puppies on...you shouldn't have any trouble finding a "breeder" on there that is willing to breed mutts exactly to your specifications.  I certainly wouldn't depend on that site for real dog information, though.

You also say that you want one of these for temperament, but that's part of why people love purebreds-they are the only dogs where there is even a CHANCE of predicting temperament (because of ethical and responsible breeding practices, which someone who breeds mutts would never adhere to).

  3. Yes, there are probably breeders of those dogs. You never asked more than that.

Now I will tell you that you shouldn't get one. Just because you have never met a 'hybrid' dog with an illness doesn't mean they don't exist. I've met many people, and not one of them has been a murderer - therefore murderers don't exist either, right?

I never said that purebreds are better. True, they may suffer from illnesses. But so might cross bred or mixed breed dogs. Any dog could suffer an illness. Some are just more prone to it than others.

And you're into designer dogs, you just want one? Puh-lease.

Show me some hard proof that all 'Maltaliers' or 'Cavamalts' are hypo-allergenic, and I'll eat my words. Their temperament, as they are not purebred dogs, cannot be predicted - so the one you get might not act the same as the ones you've met. With purebreds, you at least have a vague idea of how the dog should look and behave.

Edit: Look, this is a Maltese x Cavalier. http://users.bigpond.net.au/aca_bk/image...

    So is this. http://www.i-love-dogs.com/dog-pictures/...

    And this. http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1077/1328...

Get the point? They are all so different. You can't predict what a cross bred dog will look or act like.

Edit: Not in those words, no, you didn't say it. But you want a 'Maltalier' or a 'Cavamalt'. They are designer dogs. Therefore, you want a designer dog. And what proof do you have of the temperament or appearance or anything of the designer dogs?
