Question:

Are there any duck hatchers that know what this dark area inside the egg that looks like a wing is......?

it is a 25 day old egg there is this darker area that sort of looks like a wing. i have no clue what it is though. 2 days ago it was moving around but i think it has stoped moving now. plz help me figure out what that the dark area is... (it is inside the egg)

  1. Take the egg and look into it with a flash light but be REAL CAREFUL not to drop or shake it move it REAL slow take the egg and stand on large end and put light behind the egg lay light down hold with finger on top and side turn SLOW around  in front of  the light you should be able to see if this is alive or not I use a flash light have to do in total darkness for correct vision  if not sure what I just typed look up candling eggs on your computer this will explain alot better.


  2. It's the baby duck.  They just look like a dark blob when you candle them.  And the babies stop moving a couple days before the hatch because there isn't much room in the egg.  You should just leave them in the incubator at this point as they are getting in the position to hatch.  Good luck!  Hopefully you will have babies soon!
