  1. There are many tools that you can use to list on eBay.  It is hard to narrow down with just "externally hosted images" as most do have that option.  What other features are you looking for?

By the way, BlackThorne does allow you to use externally hosted images - that is the tool I use and I host my own images.

Like I said, let me know more of what you are looking for out of a lister and I will point you in the right direction.

  2. Have you checked into AUCTIVA?!  I started using it last year after Turbo Lister crashed for the 3rd time and wouldn't post an auction unless I used this FREE service. But with all the changes that eBay made this year, I've dropped the number of items I'm selling on eBay in half or more!

But  regardless, please check into AUCTIVA  I really believe that it boosted the final price of some auctions because they looked much better than a standard eBay template.

You get to create your auctions and store them, along with up to 24 PICS---for FREE (after the first pic, eBay starts charging) and there are 1000's of templates!

It really is GREAT.  I believe that you can still add pics from your external source, but double check.

Meanwhile, find another source to sell too... Read what powersellers write about eBay (2nd link) and see 3rd link for a suggestion on where else to sell!

eBay sellers have been hit incredibly hard with the changes eBay is making in 2008. For more than 10 years eBay let their community pretty much run itself and now, all of a sudden, eBay is afraid for its own survival and is changing the rules on an almost daily basis with no apparent regard to what their changes are doing to the good sellers on eBay who have built their business around eBay. It is clear that eBay 2008 is operating in crisis management mode and folks whose livelihoods are dependent on eBay are frightened and angry because there is absolutely no stability in the eBay community. My suggestion for all eBay Sellers is to become "eBay-Independent" by taking things one step at a time.

Turbo Lister was great because you could work off line, but the only support you could get was on the eBay boards--specifically FOR Turbo Lister--and other users-NOT tech support from eBay.

    Best of luck!

  3. Not a problem. You can use externally hosted images with Blackthorne. I use Blackthorne and have my images all hosted on AOL. I've used this for about four years now, and Blackthorne is a very good listing program.

  4. Yes there are dozens, ranging from free listing services (Turbo Lister, Poster Toaster) through more sophisticated auction managers (Blackthorne, AuctionSage, Vendio), to commercial eBay/ecommerce solutions (ChannelAdvisor, Infopia).

Most of these either have their own image hosting service (often free) or can work with external services like Photobucket.

To give you an idea of the scale and choice available, here is a categorized list of eBay solutions:

More specifically, here are eBay listers and desktop auction managers (which are normally lower cost than web-based tools):

  5. You might want to look at Turbo Lister. I also use photobucket for storing my photos. That work out pretty well.
