If you have a whole foods store near you they will have several choices.

Detergents do not reduce carbon dioxide emissions , unless they are harsh and more effective , therefore reducing the run time on your washer.

I would pick the strongest with as much stain fighting enzymes as possible , with the shortest cycle time.

Line drying would reduce your emissions considerably.

yea. it's called sa8. www.quixtar.com, you use less (aobut 2 tbs per load) and it's for cold water, plus it's biodegradable.
