Alright my quetsion is are there any boxing fans out there who are going to purchase the PPV rematch between de la hoya vs mayweather?

If yes, do you really think you will see a different result?

I mean come on, de la hoya is an old man, mayweather is in his prime,

They both have boxing styles, it will be a boring, repetitive fight.

Waste of time!

I think if you were a true fan you would boycott this rematch

because its a joke, clearly made for the money.

The real fight we should see is cotto vs mayweather.

Also do you think that de la hoya should just hnag up the gloves and retire?

who is he kidding does he really think he can also beat cotto?

  1. Absolutely. Look, the first match was hardly as good as it should have been but it was still mildly entertaining. It confuses me why so many people expected to see a slug fest with two defensive boxers.

You also need to remember that we would be watching two of the greatest boxers of our time. Would you really want to miss the fight on the off chance that de la hoya knocks mayweather out in the 6th round? I would feel like an idiot if the best pound for pound fighter lost and I missed it because I didn't think think the first fight had enough action in it. I think to many people are looking for a herns-leonard or gatti-ward punch out. Remeber both these fighters are smart enough to know that they wont last for 12 rounds if they just start swinging.

People need to stop saying de la hoya is old and that he is washed up. Yes, he is slowing down, but he is far from out of the game. He is doing things right, he is finishing just when he is starting to decline. No he can not beat cotto. I do think think he will beat mayweather. Floyd is a much better fighter than than de la hoya, but there is a lot more to this fight than just the fighters. Emotion will be huge. Its de la hoyas last big push, against an opponent who is the best pound for pound. If he beats floyd maybe people will call for him to fight cotto, but if he doesn't beat mayweather people will never forget that.

  2. i think mayweather is a talented fighter but he fights for the money than for the love of the sport. who would want to pay 60$ to see fighters waving and dancing around instead of hitting the other opponent? i would rather see a Pacquiao and Morrales fights or better yet some MMA fights. they are more exciting than watching the talented but boring mayweather. no hats off for you when you retire!

  3. Thumbs up Jo S.

I swore to never buy another p.p.v. fight after that fiasco. Buuuuuut I still do. lol. But a rematch NO FRIGGIN WAY!!!! ODLH looked good  and aggressive against Forbes a C fighter and Mayfeather hasn't fought since knocking Hatton's butt back across the pond, but I will actually watch the reply on H.B.O. the week after instead of wasting money going to Vegas or buying the fight.

Really Oscar should have hung them up after Hopkins but $$$$ talks in boxing. They will hype the c**p outta this fight and 2 million suckers will pay $54.95 to see Floyd poke and run and Oscar stalk around swinging at air. The fight real fans want to see is Mayweather vs. Cotto.

And as far as ODLH fighting Cotto he is nuts! Cotto would decapitate him! Yeah great end to a career Oscar.

  4. Will I take the time to see the fight? Yes. Will I spend the money to see the fight? No. I know too many people who order PPV fights, so I never have to order it myself.

Anyway, I don't really expect anything different to happen in the fight. I think it will be a carbon-copy... maybe even a decision that would be a little more convincing. Even though I expect nothing different, I do know anything can happen in sports, which is something that will always make other curious and want to see what happens.

I do think Oscar should hang up the gloves. As of right now though, we don't know if he will even fight Cotto. Nothing is written in stone, yet. Miguel Cotto needs to take care of business with Antonio Margarito, before anything can develope with a possible matchup. Though, I don't think Oscar is kidding anyone with his thoughts of beating Cotto. I think Cotto just so happens to be the biggest money draw that Oscar can get before retirement.

  5. As a boxing fan, i will watch the fight but as a human being with common sense, i wont be paying for it, instead i'm gonna go somewhere else and watch it for free because thats the least De La Hoya and Mayweather owe me for suckering me into buying their sparring match on PPV. now dont get me wrong, if i were to get a ticket to the fight, i would definetly go watch but that ticket would have to come in the form of a free ticket. on a side note, i understand that Mayweather wants to be considered one of the all-time greats which i wish him all the luck but thats not gonna happen if avoids the best fighters out there (Cotto, Mosely, Williams, Margarito) so as it stands now, i think he will be considered a very very good fighter but never great at least not until he fights the above mentioned names.

  6. De la Hoya has never won a big fight, now he is old and can not even beat decent fighters (Forbes lost to an unranked fighter two fights ago) it's all about money and Mayrunner loves money and easy guy to fight.

  7. No way! I still want my money back from last time they didn't fight.

  8. No way. I don't know why the rematch. I'm a really boxer fan, but their first match was so borring. I prefer to see a fight from Manny or Morales. I really don't know why Fraud Mayweather is avoiding Cotto.  Fraud Mayweather vs. Miguel Cotto is the fight that everybody want to see.
