  2. go to www.femalesonhorse.com

  3. yes there are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  4. There are many.  In California, Joy Scott and Dorothy Williams are two of the most prominent.  In Arizona, Jocelyn Kenney is one of the leading riders.  There are several who ride in the Atlantic states, Carol Cedeneo, Tara Hemmings, and Joanne McDaid all come to mind.

  5. Yes..the only name i can think of now is Haley Turner who races on the flat in the U.K.  she's a brilliant jockey.

  6. There is (or was) at least one woman jockey.  (I am not certain if she still races, and there is no longer a racetrack where I live so I haven't been to the track in some time.) There are no gender qualifications in racing.  It depends on how good a rider you are.  Jockeys usually start out by working in the stables and exercising the horses, so they are around the stables for many years before they begin to race.  If the owner of a stable likes the way a jockey rides the horse, he will give him a chance to race professionally.

  7. There are plenty of female jockeys... my prediction? Emma Jayne Wilson of  Canada ( 2006 Sovereign Award winner AND Eclipse Award winner) will be the FIRST female to win the Kentucky Derby. She has excellent timing and a great pair of hands!
