Are there any ferries from Montego Bay into Negril, Jamaica?

I am probably going to go to Spring Break in March to Negril, Jamaica, and the flights arrive to either Kingston or Montego Bay. If I fly into Montego Bay, are there any ferries available to take me into Negril? or is the only option a shuttle bus/ taxi? Thanks

  1. Shuttle Bus, Taxi or Air Charter.

    1. Definately arrive in Montego Bay. The additional stress of the 4-hour drive to Negril from Kingston is something few locals enjoy and not worth doing.

    2. If travelling alone with luggage, the taxi would be the best choice. (Mobay to Negril)

    3. If in a small group a chartered Shuttle or Tour Bus is recommended and most cost-effective.

    4. Air charter is pricey and will usually involve a small 4 to 6 seater aircraft. You may need to charter to separate plane of the same size to carry your luggage. Its fast though, and you will not be affected by traffic in mobay or near the airport, since you would simply head over to the private aircraft terminal.

    5. You COULD charter a (decent size) boat to carry you to Negril but this would need to be for some reason OTHER than cost or time-savings. It would be fun though!

  2. One thing often overlooked by people going to a resort in Negril is if the resort provides transportation between MoBay and Negril.  Ask the question and the worst answer you can get is "no".  You want to fly into MoBay, not Kingston.
