Sambo is a type of wrestling and systema is cool. It isnt like Karate its brutal hand to hand combat with no real stances, teaches you to use anything as a weapon and to quickly and efficiently disable multiple attackers. Its great its easy to learn and like i said its brutal.

It isn't sport fighting like Karate and other common styles

All styles that are TAUGHT (including Western styles and weapons techniques such as fencing) are martial arts.

If it is not associated with a discipline, then it is still a MARTIAL TECHNIQUE in spite of the fact that it may not be a Martial ART per se.

technically 'martial' means fighting so all fighting is a martial art. i don't really consider wrestling or boxing and stuff like that a today's definition martial art though.

MMA,Boxing and Wrestling are Combat sports,but still Just as street effective. I question Highschool wrestling though,,,

Depends who you ask (apparently). Frankly, there are martial arts like wushu, jujutsu, karate, and the watered down versions used for sport, which would include boxing, MMA, etc. Then there's fighting methods. These are stripped down ways of fighting, usually built from pieces learned from martial arts, which typically focus on quickly teaching a person an aggressive self-defense plan. These last ones would include styles like Krav Maga, Keysi Fighting Method, US Army Combatives, and the like.
