  1. no the bettas will rule and eat your fish

  2. no but you can put dwarf frogs in with them but not goldfish.

  3. Betas don't even get along with betas.

  4. Nope. The betas will fight and / or eat any other fish in the tank.

  5. Fish that don't have long fins like a betta for males. but I don't know what to tell you about females.

  6. ah yes. Misconception central.Betta's and tank mates. Yes Betta's can be with other fish!!! NO! They can NOT be with goldfish. Betta's need it much warmer than goldfish. If the betta was cold then he would catch disease easier and if the goldfish was warm it would die because it couldn't get oxygen. Plus once the goldfish is to its adult size it could eat the betta! But little 1 gallon kits or larger are not that expensive. A 1 gallon kit with a light and under gravel filter is 10$ at pet smart! Go for that, do not put them together!

  7. goldfish aren't the best fish to put with a betta. but it depends if your soon to be betta is female or male. males can get along with other fish like corry catfish.

females can get along with many other fishes but that depends if she is aggressive or not.

good luck hope this helped :)

  8. no bettas are tropical

    goldfish are cold water

female bettas would not harm a goldfish but there water requirements are different

small schoolers are ok with bettas i think

  9. You can keep fish that don't have "pretty tails" with a betta.  I've kept and bred mollies in the same tank as a betta, they were fine together for 4 years before the betta died.

I've also kept African Dwarf Frogs with a betta and that was good match too.  The frogs were afraid of the betta, but the betta paid no attention to them.

Rasboras, swords, platies and mollies are all compatable with bettas.  If you have a huge tank, goldfish might be ok but goldfish need filtration and bettas do better without it.  They don't like their water moving, it stresses them out.
