Question:

Are there any fish tank lights that are the shape of a lamp?

I have a plastic fish tank with a plastic lid that covers the whole top of it. There is no room to sit a light on. There is a gap in the middle of the lid but it is too arkwardly shaped to sit anything on it.

I was wondering if there was a fish tank light that was like an overhead lamp designed for fish tanks like these.

  1. You can buy "clamp lamps" that may hold to a desk and be able to shine into your tank (if you don't think your tank itself can be what the lamp clamps to), or I have seen lamps that shine lights into tanks.

Or you can get a lamp stand (which may be sold for terrariums) and put a lamp on this.

It just depends what type of light you are looking for.  If you have a reptile or turtle, just make sure to get a UVA bulb.  You may use a heatlamp, but that may be too hot if your tank is as small as it seems.

So, you can go with other lamps as well.  Here are a few links for small aquarium lights that are made for small plastic tanks:

    Good Luck!

  2. try amazon.com you can find some cool stuff on there. or petsolutions.com

  3. You can usually find hoods that fit tanks perfectly but if you want, you can just buy a regular desk lamp and shine it above your tank. This is what I used with my previously sold 5 gallon tank.

  4. I haven't seen any in stores but I would google it and really search on the net for it.
