Are there any foods that Mexicans can't eat due to beliefs?

is there some foods they can't eat due to their beliefs

I haven't found any food restrictions, Mexican food uses just about everything.

It's an old Mexican wives tale that you shouldn't eat anything with pork late at night because the pig will get it's revenge and whatever you ate will kill you.

Well, I'm Mexican and most of us are Catholics so during Lent we have to give up something and most of us choose BEEF. Otherwise, we usually cook and eat almost everything from plants to countless animals.
