  1. Yes. Most of them are free.

    There is an admission charge for Ferrymead and others of its ilk.

    All museums will accept Koha.


  2. The only one I know about is the interesting Canterbury Museum,  that includes colonial, Maori and natural history sections, Antarctic exploration display, and visiting exhibitions.

  3. The Canterbury Museum...the main one..is free.....I'm actually not sure if there are others to be honest!!!!

    Ferrymead has old buildings and some people dressed up...its ok I guess, but I know you have to pay...I'm not sure how much, but I would not pay TOO much to go there.

    THe Antarctic Centre is quite good, but you have to pay for that....I guess its not a museum per se, but its good.

    Oh I think the art gallery....near the canterbury museum is also free for most exhibitions there....some are very good.

    the new arts centre is charging out of towners now though...
