  1. Are you serious....................... I realize children need to learn the computer but do NOT begin this too early because they can develop tendinitis or carpultunnel.

  2. I don't know of any programs that teach those specific skills but there are many simple games on starfall.com and sesamestreet.org that very young children can use. There is one game on sesamestreet.org that only requires a child pushing the space bar or a letter key in order to play so an child as young as 1 year or so might enjoy it.

  3. http://www.starfall.com

I believe this is a reading and language arts free internet program for young children.  They start at alphabet level with sound and cute graphics.  So, the beginning level is very appropriate for preschool level.

Other than that, I think mouse skills are just learned through having adults guide children through software learning games (such as for reading and math readiness).  They will pick up the skills the more they have experience with computers.

  4. Try this site:- http://www.paxtoncat.com.au/index.php?pa...

This page contains detailed information about MyABCD for parents and teachers

    cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  5. I'm not sure if you can get these on the internet, but there are a set of four CDs called Alphabet Playhouse that teach children many different things. I have a five year old that has been playing them for about a year now and enjoys them very much. I hope this is helpful!

  6. I don't know of any free programs on the internet, but you might want to try your local library.  They usually have computer programs set up for young children and it's free.

  7. I don't know of any specific programs that teach those skills, but try looking at different websites for games your child could play. I have a young brother who learned to use the computer by playing different games on http://www.addictinggames.com . You could also try sites like Disney, Nick Jr., or PBS. Using games to teach this skill is good because it gives the child something fun to do while they are learning.

  8. HI

I just did this for a family of a student that I teach. I had them call radio shack or best buy and asked them. They said that their local computer store gave them a lot of sites. Of course I have not gotten the list from them yet. They are choosing the best ones. So you might want to try this.

Also..you can call your local library and ask for the reference librian in the children's sections..they might also be able to help you.

  9. Young children can become very sore in the arms neck and wrist as the desks and chairs are made for adults. Computers can also make them become agitated. Try teaching them yourself for a period of 15 minutes at a time.
