Question:

Are there any good AP-centered yahoo groups?

After having learned so much here, I'm finding my usual groups to be severely lacking. Most of them are centered around how horrible their kids are, how their various diagnoses make life impossible for the rest of the family, etc. And while I see the need for these folks to have a place to vent, I just don't think I can get any support there.

I know about the informed adoption advocates message board. I just have a hard time keeping up with message boards unless I'm getting message sent to my email, which is why I prefer yahoo groups (or msn, or any service that sends out daily digests). Anyone know of any groups like this?

Thanks!

  1. Hi Gaia~

Try this link. They even have a group for foster/adopt parents!

    Good luck!

  2. Hiya Gaia,

Check in your profile settings on the boards you have found - and see if there is a way for emails to be sent, once you have posted in a thread. This is one way to keep up on forums.

You may have to hunt around a bit.

  3. There's a yahoo group I found that I've been in for about a couple weeks.  It's called A_O_K_ which stands for Adopt Older Kids.

  4. Hmm, let me think about/research this Gaia. I'm in a really good Yahoo group called Global Adopt Talk, but it is really about international adoption issues (mostly political issues), so it really wouldn't apply much to your situation (though I'm sure you'd have opinions! >wink<).

I'll see if I can find others.
