Did you have beer already, or are you traveling backwards in time? I suppose you mean 2 Jan.

I don't know about beer festivals or market at that time of the year; it wouldn't make sense. You don't drink beer out in the open when it's cold. The big beer markets (also called "Biermeile", i.e. "beer mile", or something like that) are in summer, mostly in July/August.

But there are many New Year's Eve celebrations in the various districts of Berlin, the biggest one being near the Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor). So you won't miss a thing, as you can buy your beer in the local pubs. If you want to join a New Year's Eve ("Silvester" in German) celebration, make sure you bring along a bottle of sparkling wine ("Sekt"), and some fireworks. They're on sale everywhere before New Year's. (Yes, you CAN buy alcohol and fireworks in German supermarkets. Sale of fireworks, however, is restricted to the days before New Year.)

  3. year the weichnachts markt....or christmas market.....
