  1. If you are looking for good documentary type tennis films these http://www.unstrungmovie.com/ (Unstrung) and http://www.tennis-x.com/story/2004-03-06... (The Journeymen) are really interesting.

This site http://www.sandlotshrink.com/movietennis... has a list of every movie about tennis (not just movies with tennis like the Royal Tenenbaums).

    Books:

There are a few interesting biographies out there like James Blake's "Breaking Back" http://www.amazon.com/Breaking-Back/dp/B... and Maureen Conolly's Little Mo also got great reviews. There is also Vince Spadea's interesting book http://browse.barnesandnoble.com/booksea... (Break Point) A behind the scenes look at the men's tour all the drama, gossip, and perspective from Spadea.

I read this book called the "Bahama Triangle" http://www.paulrutherford.net/bahamas.ht... because I met the author who gave us a copy at an event. I am not much of a book reader but this book was seriously good!  It's not just about tennis there is a real story line but the tennis a a HUGE part of the story. I'd recommend it, very good stuff.

  2. There are :

    - "Match Point" by Woody Allen: excellent movie but if you want to watch tennis scenes, move along...),

    - "The Royal Tenenbaums" by Wes Anderson: one of my favourites, the Richie character is inspired - I think - by Bjorn Borg (the outfit, the carreer too early arrested, suicide attempted...)

    - "Wimbledon": a bad romance with tennis on background (filmed in a way of a Nike commercial)

  3. Wimbledon and Match Point are both movies about tennis and are meant to be decent movies.

As for books, I know of someone who has written a book about tennis. Although I haven't read it myself, it's meant to be really good.
