So I'm single, I'm young, and I'm... how to I put this... broke. Are there any cookbooks for eating simply and healthily... on a tight budget? I'm tired of cookbooks that tell me to go get "fresh salmon." DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH THAT STUFF COSTS?!?!

  1. Since you are on a tight budget you don't even need to buy a cookbook. You can pretty much find any recipe you want online. That is how I get all of my new recipes.

Try out different grocery stores in your area also to compare prices, sometimes it's amazing the deals you can find at a store you previously skipped over!

Also, if a recipe you really like calls for an expensive ingredient or something you don't eat then substitute it with another ingredient. This usually works for me.

  2. Yes probably more than you know - look on amazon.com to start or half.com  type in cooking on a budget or something along those lines - or use this website I love it - www.allrecipes.com you can do an ingredient search for items you already have or search for new recipes and keep the ones you like handy in the future!! good luck!!

  3. well since you are on a budget go to thrift stores. and find a book there .. most of the books there are older or newer depending on the thrift store.. but they are not expensive... or try a book store. sometimes they have clearance sells on cook books cause they don't sell to many.. or even go to the library and copy some recipe that you like from there cook book books that is way less expensive as well copy's cost 5-15 cents lol ... hoped that helped!!!

  4. i have a gem of a cookbook that  uses five ingredients or less!  it is my standby

  5. Take your pen and pencil and notepad and go to Borders or another book store that has coffee shop and get the 5 ingredients or less cookbookand copy down recipes!  You can also access some on the internet!
