Are there any good free programs to view outerspace???

  1. depends on what you want.

    for 3D viewing, i highly recomend "Celestia"

    for simple satelite images, then i recomend the sky feature in "google earth"

    and then you have "Worlwide telescope" but i haven't used that yet.

    if you want to know the planet's positions, and the positions of the stars in the night sky (more as a resource) then you might be able to scare up a free edition of "The Sky version 1" but i would be suprised.


  2. You can also use Celestia, which makes it possible to view the universe from different stars.

  3. There is Google Earth which has Google Sky built into it.  You just run google earth and look for the black Sky icon and will switch over to allow you to zoom into space

    There is also World Wide Telescope by Microsoft which requires Vista to run. See Links below. Both are free programs.
