I have been to nearly all of these. Typical of Americanised Indian food. None are really stellar, but Rangoli in Auburn Hills is generally packed at lunch time as the locals love it.

My other recommendations would be the ones in Troy, Rochester Hills in Farmington Hills. Udipi chains tend to have good food.

There is this one downtown by Compuware in the Campus Martius area. I don't know the name, I've never been there. It's sort of across the street from Orchid Thai. It looks scary from the outside. My vegan friend loves it. Orchid Thai is good too.

There are several along Orchard Lake in Farmington Hills - it's not downtown though.
