Are there any good leg/thigh exercises i can do?

we have to run a 1/4 mile track in p.e and I really want to finish first with the boys to show im not weak! i already have the willpower to keep running.. I just need to tone my legs so i can get there faster :D

i've been doing pilates moves that are supposed to strengthen my legs but they dont even burn

  1. Keep practicing running, but if you have on demand on tv, go to sports & fitness, and go to the leg work outs, they really work for me.

    Find something for added weight, some dumbbells, jugs of water, cat litter, something.

    Do Squats with weights (or without if you cant with weight)

    Do chair raises on each leg. (lift yourself onto the chair with one leg, standing with one leg atop chair as ending position.)

    Lunges with weight.

    Calf raises with weight.

    Look up on google for pics.

    Good luck with the run!

  4. Do 100 leg lifts on each leg with five pound ankle weights.

    Then turn on your side and do 100 leg lifts that way still with the five pound ankle weights.

    Also work on your abs, they are key in running. Try core training classes or just crunches and such.  

  5. Lunges, squats and duck walk but if u have access to weights you can do any leg weights. But the best thing to do is go for a run after school everyday and you'll be a better runner in no time.
